Yes, the shock and spring were removed. Bottom of coil over mounts to original shock mount. You will probably need about an 1" spacer so it doesn't rub. I fabbed the spacer out of a piece of weightlifting bar. Just cut it to lengthe and drilled a hole in the middle. A friend with a machine shop can make it in 5 min. As far as the upper mount goes there is an upper angle iron piece with a hole in it. The upper shock stud(I think it is called) is in-line with the shock not perpendicular. Depending on your shock you might have to convert. I had to, it cost about 30 bucks. I guess I left that out of the parts list.
There is a good picture in a prior post that helped me. I will do a search if I can't find it, I have one on my Desktop computer. I am laptopping right now.
