Fasterpatric,
I made my steering column using the turn signal head from a '65 CORVAIR. I also used the steering shaft from the 'VAIR and mated it to a CHEVETTE lower half steering shaft. The 'VAIR shaft fitts inside the CHEVETTE lower shaft so I could adjust the length. I then cross drilled the two & bloted them together. I used a 1-1/2" steel tube for the housing.
