I wholeheartedly agree that a baffled and gated ROAD RACE pan is good insurance. I personally have an Aviaid on my 427 and a Canton on my 5.0. One caveat, though. I know of three brand new Canton pans that had small leaks in the welds. You don't find them until the car is up and running. Not so bad on a Cobra, 'cause the pan is easy to remove. But in a Fox Mustang you have to pull the engine to replace the pan. If I ever bought another Canton, I'd definitely find a way to pressure test it before installation.
