exactly. The existing punishments/laws were not detering them, so new stronger ones were put in place.
Basically, the illegals demanded reform, and they got it. As the old saying goes, be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. They wanted reform and this is how the cities/state/federal government reacted. One of those things that if they had not demanded the reform, it probably would have faded away as a politicians nonsense, but by publicly demonstrating and telling Americans that "You cannot survive without us", then all they did was make the public push the governments harder than they ever pushed before and the push was stronger than the illegals. Insulting Americans to try to get what you want doesn't really have a good track record through out the last 241 years. You would think someone would catch on to that.
