They tried to 'modernize' a classic and failed miserably, forever condemning Triumph to the "Oh my god, what the hell was that" category...Everything leading up to it was evolutionary from the TR2 onwards, and them some British Leyland bozo (Harris Mann) decides "OOOh, let's change EVERYTHING, but still call it a TR so we can cash in on the cachet of the name". One can only hope that the aforementioned bozo was FIRED!
Of course, just my humble opinion and remember I'm the one that liked 'frogeye' Sprites...LOL

You do know the name rights to TR6 has been purchased by BMW. A design is in the works to resurrect it like the Mini. See my thread.
