Well... actually what happened in my situation was that he filed his arguement through paypal and they informed him that it was too late to file through paypal but he had up to a year to file through his credit card. So, he contacted Visa and they refunded the money, in turn pulling the money from paypal, who pulled it from me. I filed a written complaint to both paypal and Visa and pretty much was told... "tough" The only thing they were willing to do for me is to freeze the money until he returns the product. At that time I could file a complaint if it was damaged or not as shipped. I got the item (in this case a double din car stereo from Japan) it was assembled but had a strange rattle to it. I installed it in my car and it wouldn't even power up. I uninstalled it and took it apart. One of the circuit boards was not bolted down anymore and was broken in 2. the screws that held it down weren't even in it. I tried soldering it to fix it but ended up just throwing it in the trash after visa told me they wouldn't do anything. I even sent them pictures and stuff. They didn't care at all.

A few months after that, a friends paypal account was hacked. he had no idea until his home bank which he didn't use very often excapt to save a littel cash from time to time, sent him overdraft notices. Paypal pretty much told him to take a hike on that too. He ended up filing a report with teh police and his bank had to fight paypal for the money back. They did have the guys name and an address which was used but I don't know if he was ever caught. the address was a few blocks from my friends house... yes, we thought about stopping by the house! haha
