I have this setup, and yes, blowing dust is a problem. But I have found the sound decrease to be to be worth it, can actually carry on a conversation in the car, and I have very little baffle, you notice it especially when you get next to something that can echo back, like a building or tunnel or truck, etc. Myself, I'd stick to the 45 deg angle down.
