That's exactly what type of health care system obama wants, to insure everybody, all illegal aliens etc. In essence, he wants to model it after the canadian system. Now if he would instead change the legal profession to a loser pays all system, something that may actually improve the economics here in the US.
A friend of mine is a surgeon from Canada, his wife as well. Recently, within the last 2-3 years, his mother-in-law developed hematuria (blood in urine). She was slated to see a urologist in Canada in 3-4 months. My friend elected to bring her to the US instead, she had money, where she was diagnosed with the big CA, and underwent a nephrectomy in a week or so. She's glad she came here for care. That's just one story of many. One of my employees is from Canada as well, with her family still living there.
I'm sure you find that your Canadian health care system is fine, but I can tell you, it's alot different from the care that is provided in the states, but if you don;t know any better, you would not miss anything. Kind of like a blind man born blind never misses seeing.
