The 427 body is wider around @ the wheel wells giving it a nice
low wide look .
They have a flare like trim where the 289 body style is just straight ,around the wheel wells .
So you can put a big Fat tire front and back giving it a low wide stance better for go Gsss .
To each their own . As for a small engine vs big it gives it a better f/r balance .
Thats what I want good 1/4 mile ,Cornering ,Braking ,dependable everyday driving for less $sss ohh dont forget the low wide LOOK.
