'1965 Ford Edsel 390 Cubic Inch' - Edsels were last produced in 1959 (1960 models), and FE engines were never installed

'Brand new motor broken in for the first time' - so, this 1965 block sat around for nearly 50 years before somebody decided to build it?

Why is this posted in the 'AC Cobra' forum, rather than under Parts for Sale Classifieds (PhotoPost Classifieds - - Powered by PhotoPost Classifieds

It's likely the OP may not be fully familiar with Ford big block terminology. Virtually no one refers to these engines as other than FE, which is an acronym for Ford Edsel. This according to multiple sources. There are other folks who don't subscribe to this label.

Yes, I know we would expect a guy to introduce himself (though I don't think I did on my first post ), but if he doesn't do that and isn't quite up on the forum 'etiquette', shouldn't we cut him a little slack with his first post? He might continue on to be a valued contributor....or we might have just scared him away.
Cheers,
Glen

Correction: Further digging has turned up references to the 332 & 361 CI variants of the FE being installed in Edsels. It's possible the 361 Edsel installation was actually the first FE engine installed in a production automobile.
