Well, if my wife wasn't so isn't on kids of late I'd be tempted
to purchase a turnkey and sell my lemon Bimmer. 328i with 50.3k miles and my A/C compressor is on the verge of crapping out on me. Love my car, hate my maintenance. Its been a problem child since month 12 of ownership. With a Cobra I could just enjoy
being in the sun listening to all the ponies rumble.

Wahoo,

I had an AC compressor almost burn my house down. It melted it's innards 2-3 weeks ago. I was damn lucky. I had another (less than 1 year old..one of the new garage units) go "220 out of phase" on me last week and get so f'in hot it was scary. TIP to all: Right around this time of year: Turn the pissers off, cut your breakers, and reset. With all the thunder, electricity is out of phase in many places....confirmed by my pal the AC guy.

Wahoo...p.s. Cobras are not exactly "no maintenance items" ... which is why I have one.

I second TC regarding the "no maintenance" comment. Even if it doesn't break, you'll always find something to fix. Only hanger queens are no-maintenance. That's because they are no-driven.

Default re:maintenance and such

i was teasing my wife this morning about ridding myself of the bimmer and buying a Cobra with a hard top. Her response in her
typical cool was 'ok' with an eyeroll. I'm certain that an everyday driver Cobra would be a maintenance nitemare. The bimmer has been an fn pain in my neck. 3 thermostats, 2 sets of window vapor barriers (flooded...twice) 1 repair to the sunroof motor, 1 replace of the sunroof motor, both headlights and turn signals replaced and intermittent problems with the air prior to the compressor issue now. This year I replaced all the rotors and brakes and on my 3rd set of tires....(yea i drive the HELL out of it). all in all, its a blast but an expensive one. sorry I missed you guys on Sunday. I was wanting to check out the rendezvous point and see the rides...clocked 22hrs this weekend. Anyone want an architect on retainer? I'm here for all your renovation and new house construction....daddy needs a new car.
