Clyde, I made major progress as well. Finished up all the welding for the exhaust, did final trim out of left side exhuast hole, took header tubes off and painted. Installed E-brake, batteries, and right seat. Fixed fuel leak at my fuel pressure isolator (it helps when someone clues you in that it is not just an AN to AN fitting, but calls for an item known as an O-ring boss--thank's to Pat Buckley and Tom Kirkham).
Then Randy came by yesterday and we filled up the fluid reservoirs and bled brakes and clutch. Then in the PM I started sanding & painting the header pipes. I need to repaint my sidepipes, I am not happy with the stuff I used (Plasti-Kote Hi-temp crap). Then I have some minor punch list items to do as well as reinstall hood and I should be good to go. I will be spending the week to figure out ways to drag it out further however  . The car needs some serious scotchbrite action before it will be seen in public. Got the nose pretty well done, but I need to rinse it and use running water, so I need to wait for self propulsion to do that.
Glad everyone had fun--except for Matt--sorry to hear about that. It is amazing how a $3 or $30 part can cause a whole lot of chaos. |
