AC Cars LTD was owned by Charles and his nephew Derek Hurlock during the Cobra days. They were incredibly wealthy, and while AC Cars was small, they owned some 24 other company's, with government contracts, so the cars were a hobby, they could have bought the entire Shelby company out of petty cash. it was Carrol that took more and more liberties with the truth, as time went by. Just look at CSX2000 and an Ace 2.6, and you will see that Shelby and Ford did not completely redesign the car. Don't get me wrong, no Carrol no Cobra, conversely, no AC no Cobra, because he was pretty much out of English car makers! Cheers, Dennis |
