87 Mk IV Washer reservoir bottle and bracket.
 G'Day Guys
I have a generic aftermarket window washer water bottle unit in my car and would like to replace it with an original period correct unit. Can anyone tell me what unit was used in the Mk IV's (what car it came from) and how was it mounted. I have pictures of it but nothing close enough to show the mounting bracket and how it is fitted.

If you have one of these could you please post a pic or two of what the bracket looks like and how it is mounted in the car.

Thanks in advance

Depends upon the erro of MKIV you have, over time they changed a bit.
My car #85 uses a Ford bag like the earlier Cobras, off the front of the footbox. Also depends upon country of origin, US cars were laden with emissions in that space.
Later I understand they were Land Rover units with Trico pump atop, could be wrong. Circa cars in late pre-1200+ range

Jaguar XKE units used as well..... 1200+ range

1300+ range is what you seem to refreence, could be Ford circa 1988-1992 Last edited by 1985 CCX; 04-04-2025 at 05:47 AM..

 G'Day Jeff
Great to hear from you. Sent you an email earlier. As expected your spot on. I have a June 87 US Mk IV and have the Jaguar XKE E Type 4.2 Electric Washer Bottle. However as you say there is a big open space there now and the Ford bottle would sit so much nicer in that space.

Just a matter of trying to identify what model Ford it came from which is proving difficult. I've searched for Sierra, Escort, Sienna, Festiva and just can't find where it comes from so far.

If you ever do find out which Ford it is from I would love to know.

Thanks again

I see this bottle mounted in a number of AK12xx Autokraft cars (1220, 1226, 1238, 1268) and even AK1500 and AKL1328 so it was some sort of std fitting for Angliss cars for some time.
What Ford model this comes off and pictures of the bracket would be most appreciated. Just can't get a pic with enough detail to see how the bracket is fashioned.
