Thanks PL, that's as I remember it. We shaved a Super Vic .500 as a test for Cobras and lost a small bit of torque low down but no HP.
No the World required no notching and the oil pumps were checked and sometimes touched on an edge. Same Eagle 4.250, 4.155 bore. Aluminums weighed 475 pounds w/carb, w/o water pump.

How reliable would this small block be seeing it is max out as far as cubes or does that even matter, compared to a 427 sbf which one would go more miles or would it be the same.

Reliability isn't affected at all. It's not really at max, you still have lots of room for overboring if need be at a later date.
