Most of those men have passed by now as you know. They were our Fathers and our Uncles. Their courage and committment laid the foundation for the freedoms we all enjoy today.

Tom Brokaw called them The Greatest Generation. I truly believe they were. I just hope their progeny do not forget the what and why of what they did on that fateful morning in Normandy almost a century ago, now.

I've been to Normandy and visited the invasion sites. The courage of the young men was truly amazing. The Greatest Generation.

My Dad returned from WWII - Europe - and I was born a few years later. He never talked about his experience and never will. He passed away 9 yrs. ago.
