Default FOR SALE: ORIGINAL 65-67 427 Cobra Chassis Instruction Book (Owner's Manual)

Original manual in excellent condition. One of two versions originally produced. Would be happy to share with the buyer the many details that separate an original manual from even the best reproductions.

Some slight shadowing along the edges but otherwise totally complete and in fantastic shape. Very hard piece to find and a necessary item for anyone looking to complete their 427 Cobra.

Price: $900

I thought that the "real originals" had brass screws binding them and if they are aluminum it is a reproduction???

No sir. There were two original versions made. One had a darker cover and brass screws, the other (the one being offered for sale in this thread) had a lighter greyish cover with alloy screws. There doesnt seem to be any rhyme or reason as to which cars got which version of 427 cobra manual

Below is a picture of a dark cover, brass screw version

They also made two different versions of 289 manual, one with a lite colored cover and one with a darker cover. The dark version is for worm and sector cars, the lite colored version is for rack and pinion cars. Notice difference in screws here as well.

Best regards,
Vern

I have the darker version 427 manual. Mine is wrapped in plastic and the ends are folded over and ironed closed. (one end is open though) The plastic is pretty fragile, so I'm real careful with it.
