RMC Series 3 AC cobra Project.
|
This RMC had a 302cid Ford engine with under body exhaust system with the tail pipes existing from the rear.
I can stand on any part of the fibreglass body and it will not bend.
I am multi skilled in all facets of the auto trade restoration which includes panel beating, spray painting ,motor trimming as well as in the electrical side.
The dash has been made to suit the Smith Guages.
.
The panels sourced can only be regarded as "SECONDS' with alot of errors(rework) which was not revealed at time of purchase.
Intrusion bars.striker and hinges are all installed.
I have sourced alot of new parts ex Ebay Uk and USA as well as well known retailers of Cobra Bits..
I have acquired the following-
windscreen frame?windshield with the wings,
Trigo wheels with tyres.
Headlight rims
cock pit mirrors and monza fuel cap.
Front and rear stainless bumper with overriders,
Seven Smith guage set out of UK.
SAAS racing seats which are 48cm wide and fit better than MX5 seats which are 50cm wide
SAAS (RED as picured)modified seats purposely built to suit a RMC/DAX cobra-41cm.
I just acquired a set of DAX leather seats with headrests far cheaper than importing out of UK or getting them made locally for $2200 or buying a set of seat frames from a local cobra kit suppliers.
Traditional locks which I found that they are illegal downunder.
Rear view mirror and all external handles etc.
,USA spec. Lucas front and rear indicator lamps
Autotechnica steering wheel which is a close copy to a Motolita steering wheel
Complete 2 speed wiper motor system with three pivots out of UK to suit the RM
VB Commodore rack is fitted and coupled to a Jaguar steering column.
Coil over springs are fitted out of Uk and fitted to the front end.
Under floor pedals have been sourced from UK
I am currently making a HYBRID Chassis with the aid of photographs and the assistance of one well known CC Forum club member who is located in Brisbane,Qld.
I have made a RHR splat in aluminium copying the LHR which was my used as a sample.
NO instructions came with this build.
Jaguar series 3 front end has been removed from my V12 Daimler and is ready to be fitted..
Choice of engines =boss 260/five speed gearbox or complete Ford DL 5.0litre with auto as a donor vehicle is available.
..
Once completed I am planning to have it on Club Registration just like my Locost 7 which is faithful replica.
For those cobra club forum members who want a unfinished project it is suggested that you put pen to paper and start costing the bits and make a realistic offer as this RMC is on the market.
Therefore to those unfinished cobra affeciodos here is opportunity to aspire to that end by buying my project. |
