Silly - for enough $$$, they would put a Hyundai on the cover, probably better than that thing anyway.

My Mommy told me, "Son, if you can't say anything good, rather just keep quiet". So I'll do just that.

It looks like something directly from Toy Story. If icons are now emulating rice burners we're in big trouble.
Where's Wayne Stoker when you REALLY need him ????

"Interesting" cover. Wonder if it is a "real" one? Where's Mr. L's mug?
The mags publisher, Tom DuPont, pretty much approves anything important in his various mags, i am told; so, perhaps he likes that cover for some reason or other.
Tom is or at least has been a Cobra owner or driver, himself; though the actual title might have been held by someone else for reasons unknown. He has had a lovely patinated CSX 3XXX, in original paint... rather nice. For some years it was in his St. Pete/Tampa corporate offices foyer. Don't know if it is still there.
Tom's a good and knowledgable car egg and variously charming and cool, as experienced. We were his King Air's mechanics until we found major delamination of his wing spars and reported it to Beechcraft and the FAA, as required. Guess he didn't need us after that.
Not clear exactly what lessons we learned and internalized after that exhausting experience.
In a recent interview in his own magazine, Tom thinks the future is in Green Automobiles and that near quadruple digit horsepower may become beside the point, although he admits high mph will remain a big attraction to big bucks.
Perhaps so. But, i find it difficult to believe that the many of the various bigwigs of Delaware and Grosse Point will sell off their fleets of Suburbans and Escalades.

Tom might be a great guy but his magazine has spiralled into an advertiser's heaven rather than an auto enthusiast's mecca.
When dating service and Viagra ads became a main stay even the high gloss covers couldn't revive the main reason the magazine was founded. He'll soon share the Kruse corner and subscribers will return to older, better focused magazines.

Tom DuPont may have been born with his silver spoon misplaced in his "knoggin", if he defines that vehicle as "important"....to each his own I suppose. As nice a person and car guy as he may be.........
The vehicle on the cover is a ridiculous attempt to update of a vehicle that
will never need an update.
