Beautiful...But can a car be Over Restored? Maybe it's just the photos...

I got a few shots yesterday but I decided to go to the floor pretty early this morning so there weren't all that many people milling around. I got some really good shots that I will post later. It's a beautiful car. The hood was not open so only body shots.

More later.

I'm also in LV visiting our daughter and went by B-J today and checked out the Cobra. You can still smell the brand new leather, and it looks really good, but the back upholstery seems a little loose....like not enough foam or padding to tighten it up. The hood was closed but the rest of the car is spotless....a nice black plate California car. Will see what it brings tomorrow since this is a no reserve auction.

That car is probably nicer than it was new. but doesnt look way over restored. -- the color combo is interesting.

Boy it is tough to be both photographer and editor. I pulled all of the photos I took over the two days into one folder and started "light table" sorting. I culled these 10 (due to posting limits in other forums).

I was using a flash but wish I'd had someone to hold a second off camera unit. As it turns out most of these are without flash. All were taken with a Nikon D700 with 35-105 Micro Nikkor (you can't buy one of these any more!) I had the ISO on 5000 and when flash was used it was -2/3 backlight.

I've got a call in to someone I know to see if I can get the hood raised.

Enjoy:

Dwight....yes, I have a problem, the first step is admitting it!
Eug and E have been upstairs playing Wii and I've been downstairs completely enjoying the auction. Just wish I was there. I would have loved to have bought the '67 Shelby GT500 SE. Maybe next time.

Whoever purchased the '67 Shelby needs to bid on the '07 Shelby that is about to sell.

I got some more pictures of it going across the block, including a photo of Carroll sitting in the car signing the previously naked dash and the proud new owners.

Unfortunately I have to get packed and rested for the long drive back to Colorado so I won't get them juloaded and processed from the Nikon raw. I probably won't get them them all processed and uploaded until early in the week.

I also got to talk briefly with the prior owner. He said it was like letting your little kid go.

Man, somebody stole that car! That had to be the deal of the weekend. I had to take a cold shower after that one.

I can't believe that stupid Prudhomme/ Shelby Mustang drag car soldl for $230K.

I honestly expected this car to get at least twice that. Well bought from my viewpoint.
