I kept looking at the car and the engine to get a feel for what these things are supposed to look like. In that respect I liked the show, but in general I think that ol' Wayne is one of the guys that screws up this hobby because he is only in it for the $$$. By the way, I liked how they so conveniently edited out all the work to get the Cobra to "fire up the first time" after sitting for 5 years!
I enjoy wheelers and dealers (it followed this show on my system) much more. Those are a couple of guys that I can relate to and I actually learn something from watching it.
P.S. How would you like to say no to a million dollar bid for your car?!?!?!?!

I guess they forgot that the car was at SAAC-31 three years ago and was running just fine.

Wayne Carrini is in the business of chasing, rebuilding/cleaning up/restoring cars and selling them for a ..... listen carefully..... a PROFIT! Imagine that.
He makes no bones about what he does. That is his business. He likes to make money just like you like to make money. This is really much less of a hobby for him then a business. He should close his business because you think it affects your hobby? His business has nothing to do with the hobby of replica Cobras. Give me a break.
The show is limited in time. You can't expect all info to be included and condensed with conmmercials allowed for.
It was interesting to see an original SC. It was interesting to see how this economy has affected the values of even the heavy weight classics like the Cobra and even the Daytona which also didn't meet reserve and didn't come close to a sale.
Sign of the times my friends.

It was running fine two years ago at the Tasca Ford 10th annual car show that Shelby attended.

Look, I am certainly not going to begrudge anyone for making a buck. This is America, after all and I'm all for it.
What I am NOT for is guys who grab these cars and push the prices to artificially high amounts and push the regular guy out of the market. Now before anyone says anything about regular guys and original Cobras, let's take a look at what has happened to the prices of Mustangs, Corvettes, 'Cudas, and just about any muscle car out there over the past few years. They went from affordable to sky high. Now let's compare that to what happened to 50's classics after the market crashed in 1987. Anybody remember how those prices were out of sight? What are they worth now? The same thing happened with Model A Fords before that. That's what I'm talking about when I say guys like that kill the hobby.
You can bet your bottom dollar that his bread and butter is not selling million dollar cars but lower priced classic cars, which he sells for more than they are truly worth. Just look at his lot.
Ok, I will get off of my soap box now.

When Wayne takes if for a drive, watch the gauges -- fuel pressure and ammeter.
