Different Interiors - Bare, aluminum, bedliner, etc.
I'm looking to get perspectives on how people have finished their interiors other than the standard black carpet finish.
I'm considering going bare or spraying bedliner for the black color and durability. Has anybody else used bedliner?
Please post pics and give opinions. Anything is up for discussion, including cons/benefits of carpet.

You have to consider that anything nonstandard - anything but black wool and leather, certain high-quality substitutes excepted - is likely to lower the value of the finished car. Applying something essentially impossible to remove like bedliner would forever doom the car to a second-class level of finish.
If you're not going to do a standard interior finish, whatever you do should be easily changed to suit the next owner. A bare racing interior could be a very attractive alternative if you add aluminum interior panels etc.

I used bedliner in my interior and am now planning to put in carpet. my bedliner was one of the roll-on versions and I am not happy with the results. I am happy because the black will help any visible seams and will help protect in case of water in the cockpit. I am toying with the idea of stainless or aluminum over the trans tunnel but the bedliner was just not what I hoped.
I did use bedliner in the engine compartment undercoat and wheel wells, this was the spray version and am very happy with the results. If you use bedliner I would recommend spray on over roll on.
I will look for pictures but they mostly just look like a black interior.

although the"standard"for the Cobra is leather with wool carpet whatever you choose should be something you are comfortable with, style, materials wise. A black car with black interior is fine for some it may not be your choice.
its your car be comfortable.

Interior
I went for that "retired race car" look - bare aluminum and flat black:
I would have left the foot-boxes bare fiberglass (like original) but I had to modify them to make room for the 351 Cleveland. Ended up painting them black to hide the modifications.
I thought the bare aluminum might get too hot in the sunlight, but, it turns out the flat black parts get the hottest. No carpet, no mats, insulation on the footboxes and underside of the floorpans.
regards,
Jeff

Spray in liners look good (when done with the right prep work to avoid it from popping/flaking), are great at protecting the metal and look good in Jeeps, but I think it would look out of place in a Cobra. A neighbor did it on the interior of an '80 Toyota Land Cruiser and I like the durability, but no matter what kind you go with, it still "looks" like bedliner. I think bare metal with attention paid in how clean the welds are done would look best for the barely street legal look. Good luck.
