I am glad there is a lot of interest in this thread. This has always been a great bunch of guys since I first stumbled across this site. This is a great thread and it made my brother and I think of other areas where we can help out beyond this site.
We are thinking there are a lot of kids at Primary Children's Hospital here in Salt Lake City that need help. Every year they do a fundraiser with the Festival of the Trees. A good friend of mine, who has been involved many years with the Festival, is afraid donations may be down this year with the bum economy. The kids still need chemo, x-rays, and wheel-chairs.
Maybe this year Santa could use 600 horses to pull his sleigh and give his reindeer a breather. I just found an extra set of wheels--I hope some of those children could put them to good use.

Actually, we are going to build an entire Kirkham 427 KMS/SC car and donate the proceeds to Primary Children's Hospital. No scratch and dent stuff--the car will be made with all of our latest, newest parts.

Wow, that's very gracious of the Kirkhams to provide such a wonderful charitable donation in such bad economic times. That's a lot of great karma.

Well now. I see that going two ways.
1. All of these items listed could be put into the car and make it a Cobra Community effort. Using as much as can be used from the list.
OR
2. Dave and Tom build an entire car.
I am not sure how this would work. Would it be sold? Why not just donate money? Auctioned ( there's an idea )?

Dean,
I don't want to hijack your thread so I started a new one.

The car will be auctioned off at a silent auction the opening night of the Festival.

I continue to be in awe of the general kindness that lies just below the tough outer skin of humankind.

I've been swamped at the office, and between the travel, have barely had time to lift the car cover to just even stare at #747. There is definitely more in my closet...just have to take the time to scrounge for stuff. Taking all of next week off, so expect to see more tidbits. Now that the Kirkham's have raised the high bar toward unobtanium, I just hope that the masses still support this freebie cause.
After all, it's not what you get out of it but what you put into it that really matters.

Earl, I think it is a good idea.
Ed was offering to help in his barn/garage.
This is Dean's thread. He just asked me to look after it while he went to India.
I have always thought that we as a community looked out for each other at times. Your suggestion is a prime example of that "help each other" mentality we seem to give to our comrades.
Can you run it past Dean and see what he thinks?

Mr. Kirkham - My hat is off to you. I've always known that you produce a world class product, but you have shown that you and your company are a first class operation in all respects; especially when it comes to generosity.
Your incredible offer is an inspiration to us all to dig a little deeper, both for this thread and for the upcoming holiday season. Thank you for raising the bar.
