California MSO VIN number: How many digits for SB100?

California MSO VIN number: How many digits for SB100?

I live in California and just purchased a brand new Cobra roller out of state and the dealer wants to know how many digits he should use on the VIN number for the MSO such that the California DMV won’t hassle me when I put the car through the rigorous SB100 registration process: Should the VIN number have:

17 digits like AC9CSLK2009ANXXXX

11 digits like 1965SPOXXXX

or just the stock # SPOXXXX
