Default To RodKnock: I stand corrected (a rare event here)

You are right. I overlooked the fact you have a Kirkham. SAACs does include Kirkhams in the pantheon of Cobras. My apologies. What can I say it was late. I agree with SAAC position on Kirkhams for many reasons.

Sorry.

However, the snippet from the Registry you quote from on the CSX Cobras is somewhat misleading as it taken out of context and is really part of the overall discussion (dicta) on the car and does not include the end result or conclusion as to how they are viewed and accepted by SAAC... but you know this I'm sure.

Takes care.

And yes, I thought this was worthy of a new thread (don't be pissed Jamo) to prove that when I am wrong (rare) I have no problem admitting it.

Megalomania (from the Greek word μεγαλομανία; megalo-, meaning large, and mania) is a historical term for behavior characterized by an obsession or preoccupation with wealth, power, genius, or omnipotence - often generally termed as delusions of grandeur or grandiose delusions.

Right or wrong has nothing to do with it.

Draggin it around like a load in one's pants seems to only effect the person with the load.

So you were wrong...welcome to the human race.

Oh great... now RodKnock's got as real a Cobra as Evan's. Thank God I've got an ERA and don't have to argue about where I get to sit on the bus.

DSM IV Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Criteria:

A. Either obsessions or compulsions:

Obsessions as defined by (1), (2), (3), and (4):

(1) recurrent and persistent thoughts, impulses, or images that are experienced at some time during the disturbance, as intrusive and inappropriate and that cause marked anxiety or distress

(2) the thoughts, impulses, or images are not simply excessive worries about real-life problems

(3) the person attempts to ignore or suppress such thoughts, impulses, or images, or to neutralize them with some other thought or action

(4) the person recognizes that the obsessional thoughts, impulses, or images are a product of his or her own mind (not imposed from without as in thought insertion)

Compulsions as defined by (1) and (2):

(1) repetitive behaviors (e.g., hand washing, ordering, checking) or mental acts (e.g., praying, counting, repeating words silently) that the person feels driven to perform in response to an obsession, or according to rules that must be applied rigidly

(2) the behaviors or mental acts are aimed at preventing or reducing distress or preventing some dreaded event or situation; however, these behaviors or mental acts either are not connected in a realistic way with what they are designed to neutralize or prevent or are clearly excessive

If you have an ERA and want to be listed, contact me with your info and I'll put it up. The minimum info I need is chassis number and location. The rest is up to you. The most information needed would be: chassis number, body type, city, name, CC nickname, and email address.

100% of the reason it's an ERA and not a Kirkham in my garage. Aluminum is beautiful, bare or painted. But for a driver, with kids and dogs and a less-than-NASCAR garage, glass is more forgiving.

Well it took me a couple years and a well-financed campaign the likes of Michael Bloomberg hasn't seen, but yes, Patrick, I have a Kirkham Cobra.

Now that I've reached this lofty status (aka Cobra and not a replica of a Cobra), I plan to use my powers for good, not evil.

Regarding the dent-ability of aluminum, unless you see Ironman flying around in my garage or outside on the roads, us aluminum car owners should be OK. Aluminum doesn't crack or need paint touchup either. Plus and minuses, pick your poison.

I don't know. Have you been taking it out for drives without my knowledge?

No, but I did wake up last night and thought to myself "I bet RodKnock doesn't know that if the plug wires for cylinders 7 & 8 on an FE are running close to one another it can cause a misfire at higher revs." So I immediately added that to the list, after my fourth cup of coffee of course.

Huh. So you're saying that I have plug wires? And if they run too close too each other, I could get a misfire? OK last question. What's a magnetic trigger ignition and do you think I have one?

BTW, I still haven't gone out to the garage and looked underneath to see what the heck my rev limiter is set at. The darn Fall soccer season is coming to a close though.

BTW2, I have I told you lately that I own a Cobra and you don't.

Oh ye of little faith. Just make sure 7 and 8, particularly, are not running along one another. Here is one of many, many, threads on it:

But your wipers don't self-park. And I would rather be left at the bus station with my ERA than ride aboard the "real Cobra bus." Of course, Evan is going to make you ride in the back, Kirkham and all.

Its like pouring gasoline on a flame.

rodknock, you really need to get a better security system if Pat is prowling in your garage around your official Cobra.
