Yes, it passed through Cobra Country a year and half ago. I knew I remembered it from somewhere and as the evening wore on it came back to me. The fella that sold it was Bob Q. from Houston, and he sold it to a fella in Phoenix. |

I would flip the tires around so the black walls were out, and I like a black roll bar, but other than that the car is exactly the way I like them. |

$15k...phddt! It's worth barely more than $5k for the parts (plus labor to pull the parts). With the frame bent so badly and in so many places, its not "salvage". Honestly, no one would put the $$ into this wreck to fix it, and drive train would have to be pulled apart/reassembled before anyone would drop it into another vehicle. It's just a pile of parts now...
I sure hope that those involved with the accident are on the road to mend and that they get well soon...

Mine was only doing 30 when it hit a truck. It was totaled also. It does not take that much to move everything to the wrong spot. I am sorry to see this.....

The seller responded to my inquiry about considering to part it out instead. His response was "Thanks." So at least he's acknowledging that there is a more robust market for parts and not a totaled car.
Can you imagine going to your local boneyard and seeing this hulk lying in the weeds? We'd pick it clean like vultures in under 5 minutes.

I just hope the driver wasn't seriously injured or worse. I really hope there wasn't a passenger because the worst of the impact looks like it was on that side. Hopefully we all see this as a reminder of how easily these cars can get away from you and how quickly they can hurt you.
My sons and I joke around about them taking the Cobra to the prom (Once we build it!) but you can be darn sure they will see these pictures before they ever get behind the wheel.

Looks like he hit the steering wheel moderately hard, and the soft aluminum deformed just right to support the impact. No sign that he hit the windshield or dash. Driver's footbox is intact. I'd bet he's got a collection of real pretty bruises, maybe a broken arm at most. Luck-eeeee. |

Dex, my hunch is that the insurance company paid off the owner and another firm bought the hulk from the insurance company as a salvage vehicle. Maybe they figured they could make some quick coin selling it to someone that is a freakin' genius with a frame machine and fiberglass repair?
This car appears to be purely for parts (IMHO).
