But the purpose of "fiberglass" is to aide areodynamics, and look pretty. In an accident, the fiberglass body is written off. A steel tube chassis however, will unfortunaltly hold up too well in most cases, not absorbing the impact of the crash to protect the occupants. There should be no debate of how these cars perform in a crash (they will not do great). The issue here is that they shouldn't fall apart and crash you into a tree.

Any person that thinks these cars are safe, regardless of manufacturer is only fooling themselves.
They are only slightly safer than a motorcycle, if that.

Hmm. I'd say they're quite a bit safer than a moto. Larger, more visible, seating that will hold you in place in minor impacts, some front/rear impact absorption, a little side impact protection, and more forgiving of minor driver lapses. Bikes are simply an accident waiting for an opportunity, and only 100% rider attention and 100% luck with other drivers keeps that accident from happening - and sometimes not even that.
Not disputing, though, that "safe" is not a word that applies to these silly overpowered roller skates.

My perception is MY reality!!!!! not yours. We all have to much time on our hands!!! Dont any of you guys have some insider trading information? A new challenging problem we need to solve with your car be it Cobra, or other. A home repair project needing advice.

Uhh, no inside info., but I have spent the day scoring 4th Grade CYO basketball. You'd be pleased to know that their disputes were about on the same level as the ones we have here.

I have some insider trading. Buy all the apple stock you can, even if you have to margin, rumor is they are selling alot of IPods!!!
grade school and high school sports can get out of hand. My brother played High school 5A basketball, they were good and won the state championship in Texas. It was nothing short of a full time job year around for him. Even in the summer when their is "open" gym just to shoot hoops, no coaching allowed, miss a couple summer "open" gyms and see if someone does not make sure you are "ok"
Since he graduated high school 15 years ago I dont think he has picked up a basketball!

At least their disputes are settled on the court and not here. Scoring is much easier than operating the scoreboard. Are ya yella or something?

You're absolutely right, scoring is much easier than running the scoreboard. With that you have to pay absolute attention, because if you don't have that clock running just right, you catch a lot of flack real, real fast. I tend to doze off with my eyes open even while scoring the game, but I usually get away with it without being caught.

Shelby endorsement of SPF:
Quote:

...everyone on this forumn thinks it is worthless in reality it is adds value to the car.
|
I've been in this Cobra game a long time and simply disagree that Shelby's endorsement adds ANY value to an SPF, really. To those that THINK it add's value, well, some folks are more easily "sold" than others.
Now my PERSONAL opinion is that the Shelby endorsement for an SPF is not only worthless, it DECREASES my respect and value for the brand. In many other cases, yes, a Shelby endorsement add's value, how much value (if any) depends on the product in question.
My opinion is not based on the quality of this or that replica. I just don't like the company, SPF, based on the way they have conducted their business within the replica industry.

On a scale of 1 to 10(1 being great and 10 being FUBAR)this car is about a 23.One of the frame rails that parallels the drive shaft is bent AND crushed. The frame is bent almost in a parallelogram.However-the car is fixable. But a frame jig would be required.
