If you have stripes, I would have the stripes on the inside of hood, it looks very nice that way, but then again just what I like.

Like some of the others, I personally would not go for the under hood mural ... but to answer the question ... In my opinion, I think the blue snake & red eyes looks pretty cool ... or make it more of a ghost image as suggested.

The brown snake is technically closer to a 'real' or 'original' Cobra (oh no ... not that again ... just kidding ) it does not have as much impact as the body color snake.

Like the guys said, it's your car, so knock yourself out !

Personally, when you open the hood, your engine should draw all of one's attention.

Otherwise, keep the hood down.

Seconded.
I was going to agree that underhood murals are cheesy, but I'm too timid!

"Every response above was timid: Too bold, too in your face, too this or that.
Unless YOU are timid, you shouldn't care enough to ask for opinions.

Go for the full blown color version - do what you've done all your life: do what others are afraid to do."

I was going to say "ditto"......but I'm afraid it might come off as timid!

On a cobra - the plain aluminum hood looks cool...the "cobra" art painted on the hood - to me - is pretty tacky / cheesy. But heck, people put metal hoops in their lips, ears, nipples etc., so if that is a look that is cool to you - do it.

Maybe you should go with a mural to honor Carroll.

Thanks for the opinions on which looks better..i wasn't looking for whether you thought it was cheesy or not..that was not the question.

As far as detracting from the motor, i am not too worried about that..these cars are outlandish and in your face from every aspect including motor, looks of the body and their sound..i doubt any real car guy looking at my car at some parking lot show in the summer is going to let a mural shift his focus away from what he really wants to look at..

i am doing this just for that extra little bit of in your face appearance to go with the attitude of the car itself....

I'm with Jamo - the engine should be the highlight under the hood.
Each to his own - he's the one paying forit!

I like original myself. But if everyone were like me car shows would be quite boring......

If you were to do something under the hood I think a hologram type image would be neat. Maybe make it a little less cartoonish too.

I'm not much for murals---but a mirror-polished aluminum finish that reflected the engine would be pretty cool...

But, if you're going to do a mural, I like Bob's muted version. Subtle is cool.
