Default the Vintage Air heater

DD and Steve,

The 7"x7" heater from FINISHLINE looks same as the one from ERA. Put one in my car, #2027.

Very simple unit. At least the fan DRAWS, rather than tries to push, through the heater core. Does move more air than I would have thought. Doors let you direct heat towards either foot box or the front. (Mine won't defog, but I never need that anyway). Well worth using. Makes a real difference in comfort.

The VINTAGE AIR assembly looks like a serious heater! The "squirrel cage" blower and large motor I would think move a LOT of air compared to the smaller heater.

In the ERA FIA, with competition dash, there is lots of room towards the center/passenger side of the underdash. Make a cardboard box "mock up" to check for room.

Question to Steve...with your Vintage Air unit, can you direct the heater outflow? I see an "open/closed" door, but not any ducting. Is that what you made for it? Feasible to use the defroster outlets to run hose in to the foot box rather than use them for defogging?

If I was doing it again, I would look into the VINTAGE AIR unit...only reservation being, can you duct the heat flow where you want.

Pete
