What 351w engine should I use in Ca-to avoid smog problems

I bought a FFR and want to put a 351w in it. ANybody know what year engine I should use to avoid smog issues?? and having to put all the Crap and smog devices on it?? I wanted to use a 94 351w truck roller block but I affraid I will have be tagged for the smog stuff for 1994
