Tool for installing braided line fittings

I have never actually needed anything. I grease everything before assembly and do fairly well. I also tape the ss with electrical tabe and cut it with a 3 inch abrasive wheel

One word of caution ..... especially if you use a hacksaw ( 32 tooth or finer ) or an abrasive cutoff saw to cut the hose ..... clean it , clean it and then clean it again ! Don`t assume that because the hose is new , it`s clean inside . You would be surprised at the crud that can get inside a piece of hose and you sure don`t want that in your engine . The Koul tool really works well as I used that on my project . Wish I had one when I was doing field service work for Parker .

I use about the same approach but I have various sizes of short steel rods that I stick in the end of the hose to hold it firm. Once the cutting is done, I then blow it out with my compressor.

Same here. It only takes a minute to do a fitting. No special tools needed.

If you are still cutting the hose with some type of saw check this out http://www.anplumbing.com/installation.html I have done this several times and it works perfectly everytime.
