You must be talking about my mental capabilities, because an engine comparison wouldn't make sense.
I understand your point. It's only original once. I agree with that sentiment, but an accurate restoration to the highest concours levels using all original and/or NOS parts, paint markings, etc. will be a beautifully restored "original" car, not a beautifully restored replica of an original car.

Let me see if I fully understand this.
Restoring an original makes it a replica. So then if I restore my replica, will that make it an original?
