Default Hot and Wet - Bad-ass black ERA 289 back from paint

Just got back this evening from picking up my ERA from Ken's in Yuba City. I asked for a dark, deep gloss black that looked wet, and, as you can see, I got what I was asking for.

Ken's did an outstanding job on my ERA 289FIA. I am thrilled with the final outcome. I cannot wait to put it back together and get it on the road.

Sah-weeeet!!!!

tkb289 and got-the-bug came by to help me roll my Cobra off the trailer and into my garage, along with my neighbor up the street, Jack, who is a fellow hot-rodder.

Thanks for the help, guys!

Can't wait, but too tired to mess with it tonight.

I'll be out there tomorrow night though... and the night after that...and the night after that...

Oh my...that's gonna be nice...HTFU!

Nice little trip for a paint job. Looks like it was worth it. Love their signage.

Looks really good Doug, the best of luck with it. Its tough to get a 'real' black, but looks like you were successful.

Vintage Wheels

I opted for the 427-style wheel as opposed to the FIA wheel 'cause I like them better. I had them custom machined by Vintage so they'd fit my ERA 289FIA.

www.vintagewheelsus.com is the Vintage Wheels web site. Highly recommend them.

During lunch today I made a list of all the details I need to take care of before I fire it up. So far, 69 lines of stuff to do, everything from "install quick jacks" to polishing the wheels and dressing the tires. I'll be out there again tonight...

That's a gorgeous car Doug! Ken does fantastic work for sure.

How long till you're on the road? Is it registered yet?

Looks great Doug. The "wet" look you were after worked, she looks wet.

Registered and I've been driving it for over a year. I cannot wait to take it out painted---it's looked like a "rat rod" this whole time. No rat rod look anymore...

No work accomplished this evening---another round of chemotherapy for my son so I'm otherwise tied up. This round, and another to go in May, and then he's done with the chemo. Cobra will have to wait for tonight.

Doug,
