Indigo Blue

I noticed that a few people have painted their Cobras the Lexus Indigo Blue and was wondering if any of you have some good quality pics. I am looking for a blue to paint mine.

Here is a thread on different blues:

I am a fan of Navy Blue (PPG 5387), but then I'm biased:

Indigo Blue from Superformance is a beauty. pics in my profile. Im sure there is a similar effect with all indigo blues but it looks black in some light and almost royal blue in bright light. Its a fun car to wax!

My ERA 427 was painted with Toyota/Lexus indigo ink pearl and GM white diamond tricoat stripes. There are pics in my profile. I should be getting the car this weekend and will have many more pics then, on my DSLR.

The pics in my profile really show how this paint looks different under different lighting conditions.

Mine is off late model GM trucks - Titanium stripe from a Lambo. See gallery photos.

I used 2002 Viper Blue and Viper silver for the strips, since my car is fiberglass we used a plastic seal coat under the finish coat . It was a black coating and it makes the finish coat pop . It was six years ago and it still looks great and no sand marks have bled threw to date . Take the extra step it is worth it in the end . A number of manufactures make this undercoating I would believe your painter can find it.

I know this isn't a COBRA but here is an example of another blue- happens to be INDIGO BLUE METALLIC form a 2004 (I believe GMC) I can get the specs if interested. Shot a grey sealer under it to get this color tone, black sealer would have darkened it and a white sealer would have brightened it. Hopefully the photos kinda show the way the shadows and light make it look different. Really looks sharp in person... WOULD really set off the curves of a Cobra with the right accent stripes.....

I always thought I'd paint my car orange or silver but in the end I couldn't go past blue.

It may have already been said here as I have not read all the posts BUT beware of computer rendering of colors (pics) and the light they were taken in. What you see is not necessarily what you get, and some times way off. Best advice is to cruise parking lots and write down the VIN and model # of the cars with colors you like. There are some late model cars out there with awesome blues and reds, REAL eye grabbers, you will definitely find the blue you want if you do that, and no surprises later.
