Do the static cling numbers stay on????

Yes, Finishline used to list them as an item "not in stock" but now I don't see them listed at all.

Did you actually put duct tape across your paint job to give the yellow team stripe effect? Maybe I misunderstood your technique but removing adhesive from my paint job is a scary thought to me! Is "racing tape" a special sort of duct tape that comes off easily?

I think racing tape has an even MORE aggressive glue than regular duct tape? Maybe not, it comes off pretty easy.

I put it on for a show, or to goof around for a few days, I don't leave them on. Any residue cleans off easily (I make sure I have a new coat of wax in that area). Now my buddy with the static cling team stripes put them on several years ago and they are just part of the car now. He never takes them off. Yellow on red looks particularly nice. I've also used black (hmmm, not so much) and white (that was interesting). Plus you can try different angles, different positions, more of less stripes. I once used THREE stripes of white, I called it "Sargent Cobra".

With static cling stripes you get one shot, their way, no changes. Heck that's no fun.

Race tape don't hurt nothing.

Just remove all the wax first. I was stuck in stop and go in 90 degree heat yesterday. I have a decal just three inches from my header exit and no problems.

Mine flew off my polished kirkham between turn 7-8 at willow springs on my first lap. Blue tape works fine.

Here are the instructions I've followed with great success;

1. Remove any wax from the applicant area
2. Wipe down with a lint free cloth
3. Take a spay bottle and add a drop or two of dish washing liquid and fill with water.
4. Lightly spray both the car and back-side of the decal with the water solution and apply.
5. Position to your desired location and while holding, squeegee from the center to the outside until all bubbles are removed. Use a rubber or soft plastic squeegee. Credit card works fine.
6. Wipe up your mess
7. Have a fine scotsh or bourbon and admire your masterpiece. If it doesn't look good, repeat this step.
8. LET DRY OVERNIGHT
9. Re-wax or better, show-shine lightly to clean it up.

They will stick like glue.
