Default Double Venom sighting at Beavercreek, OH cruise in

I took my Cobra to the local cruise in tonight and saw the Double Venom there - pretty cool. If you don't know the history, it's a Classic Roadsters that was heavily modified to squeeze in a Viper engine. Ed Combs who build it was responsible for staring Spring Fling which turned into the London Cobra Show. Ed gave away the Double Venom as one of the first raffle cars.

The car looks great in the pictures and that isn't a bad asking price if everything is as good as it looks. What an awesome car that would be to have.

I had a Viper powered SRT/10 pickup prior to the Cobra.

No matter what you do, they don't sound like a big block V8.

Just for Giggles,
The original "Toy Store" (Chryslers code name for the Viper Factory), had a lot to do with the engineering of the DV. It attended four of the Chrysler Classics Drag races-(National Trails Drag Strip-Columbus, Oh. four years in a row to race against Vipers) Four Races--Four wins! I still have the plaques from Chrysler! And that was before Chuck did some awesome work and modifying to the motor! Also won and set track records at Run N Gun in its Class by over THREE SECONDS.

I think it would be cool if a collection, OK big collections were donated to DV so he (I) could buy the car back! You could raffle it again, one $20.00 ticket and one buyer!

Chuck: The offer still stands, IF it ever gets to the point where the body actually needs touched up/painted I'm still here, just a little North of your location!

Ed -DV- Combs,
Still very proud of this very, very Unique car/Cobra!

Ed,

When I saw the car from across the lot, I practically ran over there. I'm staring and telling my son - "it's the Double Venom!" I think the other people around me thought I was nuts

I talked to Chuck about this car prior to my build. I kind of wish I would have given it a more serious look now that I am $40K+ into my build already.

Silverback,,
DV 1 had EPA sidepipes when it was first built--three laps around the Run N Gun track in St. Louis and it, the exhaust blew out both catalytic convertors until they were "hollow"!

When we got her home that is when I took the Pipes off and built the custom flow through sidepipes- gained about 17 HP, but no deep BB rumble one would expect. Deeper than a normal Viper and nicer but Nope, still didn't sound like a BB.

I always said it sounded like a John Deere tractor on Steroids Or a million pee'd off Bumble Bees!

(Fastest time in the 1/4 (Chrysler Nationals) 11.00 @133mph) NHRA Officials told me; DV one more tenth and you are out of here!

DV
