Except for Bill above you guys are a bunch of kiddies!! I wanted a Cobra ever since I rode in a friends in 1965 Chicago. Finally got one at 67. BillB

OK, BillB, I test drove a new black '64 260 :o Cobra from a dealer in Pacifica (CA) in June of '64. I ended up with a '64 Corvette (loaded), because I couldn't afford the extra $1K :( it would have cost me to go with the Cobra. Both were pretty cool cars. How's *that* for old? Rich

62 here, but usually feel a lot younger!

56 later this month and in the midst of a build.
My late father took me to one of the local Ford dealers in town to see the recently-introduced Ford Mustang along with a special traveling Ford display that included a Ford GT (red) and a Cobra (also red) with a 289. I was nine at the time. In college in the early '70s, I saw a 427 Cobra on a USED CAR LOT--it looked great, but they wanted $7000. (which I certainly didn't have). Besides, that's roughly what they cost new and, after all, it was just a used car . . . . Those two experiences whetted my appetite. While I'll never be able to afford an original Cobra, my ERA 427 replica will meet my needs just fine! |

Sorry to bring this from the dead, but I felt compelled to say that I have to think long and hard to remember a tape player, and parachute pants. I am 24, so I guess I may win to be the youngest. Couldn't wait to drive it so I bought it built and will have it free and clear this May. Young at heart and body.
