Default Starter or Solenoid???
I went to start the Cobra and when I pushed the start button, there was a loud clunk, Pushed it again and it started up. Is the starter hanging up or is it the remote solenoid? (Ford 302 with remote solenoid) I had the same problem a few weeks ago, but thought it hung up from being hot. No grinding noises. I am using a McLeod starter with a Lakewood housing. I checked the starter gear alignment with the flywheel when I installed the starter.
