Default Accelerator pedal return springs

The recent Kirkham crash due to a stuck throttle made me wonder, how many of us are running dual carb return springs or a carb return spring and an accelerator pedal return spring?

It looks like the originals ran them (or at least some of them). I know that my pedal was drilled for it, but it wasn't installed (which I am correcting). Here are two pics of CSX3021 (courtesy of Mickmate) showing them installed. (Mickmate also has the tab washer and spring if anyone wants it).

I ran dual return springs on the carb and had a set of them that were different strengths. I used to check all of my linkage daily and made sure that nothing was sticking at all.

No, it would have had that accelerator return spring plus a carb return spring. The accelerator return spring is bigger than the carb return spring.

I picked up a dual carb return spring at Summit Racing. They have them in all colors pretty cheap.

the last time I heard of a stuck throtle, was about 30 years ago me in my ss chevelle big block 396 doing 90 in a 40 mile zone, when I told the cop my throttle stuck, he pulled up his glasses and started laffing his ass off, yea right he said, he gave me a ticket for 50 in a 40, he said that is the most used excuse he hears all day long.

Actually there are three on my Holley fed big block, the one on the carb itself then doubles on the linkage to a bracket on the intake.

The Kirkham crash was NOT due to a stuck throttle. The newb behind the wheel got his feets tangled up in the pedals. I'm not sure what type of device to install for that one...
