Default Registration question for NH cobra owners.

Hello,
I am in the process of buying my first Cobra. A bit excited.
The car is currently registered in Massachusetts as a 2005 kit car replica.
I was hoping to register as a 65 cobra replica in New Hampshire, I wanted to ask if there any way to do this? Or will it have to be registered as a 2005? I wanted to ask and get a clue before I go to the registry.

Thank you very much to all those that reply.

I recently talked with NH DMV to answer the same question and was told that if you buy a cobra from another state with a title identifying it as a 2xxx something, it CANNOT be retitled to a 1995 in New Hampshire. I was also told that if the motor is pre-1996, you have to get an emissions exemption each year when you get the car inspected by filling out a form along with proof of the engine's origin and bringing to DMV

My impression as well, you can't re-title a car as something else after it has already been titled elsewhere. If the car is older and has a 10yr or older title there is already an emission excemption in NH that require no additional form to file.??

Where are you Johny? If in Southern NH you must attend our monthly breakfasts. We can also help with your questions moving forward. Our group extends from Nashua to the Notch....
