How often do you drive your cobra

I just received my cobra last Friday and I have been out in it 4 times , I am always cautious of anything that makes me feel that good , as it usally wears off quickly and becomes mundane

I was curious to know if the cobra driving experience ever wears off or am I good for a long time

Driving Cobra

I drive mine nearly every day somewhere if its not raining. I have a SPF 427 an everyday somebody wants to take a picture or trade there piece of junk usually for my Cobra. It gets alot of attention. Drive yours an you will see, everyone loves a Cobra.

No, it does not wear off. It changes a bit, but it does not wear off.

Lately very little, only because got back into hot rodding Harley Davidsons, not enough hours in the day to do both.Certainly not because of the lack of desire to be in the Cobra.Just seeing that beast sitting in the shop is enough for now.Have every intention of using it more before cold weather sets in,it is certainly not going anywhere. You guys are right everyone does love a Cobra.Mine is parked beside one of my all time favorite antique John Deere tractors (restored).

I drive mine whenever I can, all year round...........

I have been an owner for a year and drive mine at least 1-2 times per week year round (even when it's 20 degrees out - without a heater).

I drive mine every chance I get. And my crummy looking lawn is proof of that.

I'm in England this week on business and am going crazy with Cobra withdrawals. Lots of nice rides here in London -- plenty of Bentleys, Aston Martins, Jaguars, Rollers, Ferraris, Lambos, Maseratis and even TVRs -- but no Cobras yet. I'd love to hear one blasting off the walls of these ancient buildings...

It never gets old for me. I drive every chance I can get a kitchen pass.

I drove mine a lot last year, but I bought a motorcycle this year, so I never even bothered to buy plates. It's just sitting in the garage under the cover. Maybe next year when the bike wears off...although the bike is a LOT of fun!!

RodKnock 07-20-2010 05:55 PM

I'm guessing, but I think take my Cobra out about 6-8 times per year.

The rest of the year I pop some popcorn, pull up a chair in the garage, pull the car cover off and just stare at it.

2 1/2 years later I'm still in the Cobra when it's sunny and over 50. Sometimes in January February and March I cheat on the over 50 rule.

Every week.

It's been many years and many miles, and it still makes me smile. Some of that may be the almost continual change the car goes through for me. Always something new and different I'm trying out. Most recent changes are the addition of slicks, which I had hand grooved for the occasional street use when their on. I also recently wore out my Goodyear Bill Boards and replaced them with Goodyear Eagle II's. Those are fun tires, a complete lack of traction gaurentees a spirited sideways ride if you press to hard on the go pedal, plenty fun, but pay attention in the corners!

Oh, did I mention the new TKO 5 speed replacing the top loader? Or that I'm on my second engine? Always something, like the new soft top I'm getting ready to put on. :) Still smiling.

I drive mine every chance I get, with the weather we are having at least twice a week. It never gets old only better.
I have had it for about 6 years.
Its just a POS that gets used and occasionally abused.

Say it ain't so. WTF are you thinking?

Ibr8k4vetts 07-20-2010 07:08 PM

1-2 times a week.

Black Mamba 07-20-2010 07:23 PM

Not often but more then enough to keep a sh*t eating grin on my face.

jhv48 07-20-2010 07:42 PM

When it starts to feel mundane, simply push your foot down a little farther on the gas pedal and that feeling will be replaced by a bunch of others,

Fear, excitement, trepidation, nausea, dizzyness, incontinance, vertigo, bed wetting, etc. Usually followed by the words "Holy S--t!"

And I have had Cobras for the last three years and drive them at least 2-3 times a week, about 4000 miles per year. Except during the winter, then I skip that week.

... and for a real thrill, try wedging your foot between the brake and throttle pedal so you can't pull it out.:p

jhv48 07-20-2010 07:50 PM

That's where the incontinance comes from!
