Wheel alignment for an SPF cobra
Guys
I know this is the place to get the information I need
I am taking my SPF 1698 cobra in for a wheel aligment and due to lowering the car the guy at the shop said I will probably need a bump steer kit and he asked me "what car did your front end come out of " , I told him it is a factory built car and the front end components are not out of a mustang or whatever , they are custom built
Am I wrong , are the front end parts such as the steering linkage , front knuclkes , tie rod ends custom made or are they from a reconized maunfacturer such as BMW , etc.

Al parts save for ball joints, bearings, tie rod ends and steering rack are custom build by Hi Tech, i.e. the spindles, arms, etc. are unique.

I really doubt you will suffer any bump steer by the small amount the car is lowered.
I have lowered mine about as low as you can go and do not have any issues.

I've written this before, but I love yellow and black. I was even tempted to do that with my ERA. I would never go with blue/white or red/white, but yellow/black... yep.

didn't know trunk monkeys had a color preference, a magazine and banana every once in a while usually keeps them happy

No, not the windsheild frame, but maybe the wheels. Somebody who just recently (meaning in the last three years) had an ERA built, a 427 car as I remember, has blacked out wheels and they are very, very cool looking.

Truer words were never spoken! My take is: belly exhaust, pipes out the rear,no stripes, leather, mats or non slip floor, working mans paint, yup black roll bar, serious drive train pushed by a big block, and a place to let it all hang out. This car was a fantasy for a lot of years now one is parked in my shop with my name on the registration.

Somewhere, this thread was about an alignment...right?
I don't know how low you made your car, but 27" to the lip of the wheelwells is the recomended ride height. (with stock tires and 15" rims) You can push these numbers to 26" with no problems but after that you need to be carefull with bottoming out the suspension on hard acceleration, bad roads etc.. Wheel clearance is another issue too. The rear tires can rub the fiberglass...What tire pressures do you run?
