Default Taller Mirrors? rear view and fender

Really enjoy having the soft top on the car for a little piece and reasonable quiet from the wind.Only issue is the mirrors the rear view needs to be a little taller and the same for the fender/cowl mirror. When the urge stikes to get a little foolish, hesitate because cannot see who may be lurking.Any ideas,I can't be the only one with this problem.
Could make a taller mirror stalk for the rear view, curious!

Default Mirror idea

here's two pictures of a Cobra with a motorcycle mirror attached high on the windshield frame drivers side. Most Cobra frames have a screw to attached a mounting bracket. I'm going this route with my build as the "typical" side mirrors are pretty much useless.

I was having the same problem with my fender/cowl mounted mirror until I bought a stick on convex mirror that fit the face of my bullet mirror and cost me all of about $3.00 at the local auto supply store. Granted it is still somewhat hard to see out of but at least I now know if someone is in my blind spot, to the side and behind my left shoulder.

Default Mirror

Pep Boys has a mirror for $7.99 that fits over the rear view mirror, eliminates most blind spots.

I do use the same one you do in my everyday driver.I want to keep mine looking somewhat stock, and a taller stem, shaft, whatever will do the trick. The fender/cowl mirror is the one I would like to remedy.Would a West Coast be too much?

Last week extended the rearview 2 1/4" works great with top on car.Now need to come up with fender alternative. The motorcycle mirror is a good idea Harley mirrors are too big,but the juices are flowing.

Here is a site that sells a taller inside mirror bracket so that it keeps the look of the original.
For the fender mirror, use the parabolic stick-on that Cobra Valley sells. Works real good at seeing the car in the next lane.

Thumbs up

Here is what I use on my Cobra. I actually clamp these onto the wind wings. They work really well.
I like them because you can move them up or down on the wind wing.

Here is another post on this Forum about mirrors. I recall that at least one other post maybe even two exist. I'll take a look and update this post if I locate them.

Rear view mirrors

I plan on making a support from 1/2" diameter aluminum rod that will mount to where the typical dashbord mirror mounts and to the top of the windshield frame. This will also help reduce any windshield vibrations. The mirror will mount to the rod and will be adjustable to whatever height it is needed between dash and top of the windshield.

Arthur

I'll post photos when I finish it.

Smile tall mirrow

I made a 1 1/2" stand out of aluminum. Matched it to the bottom of the mirrow. I used longer screws to bolt it thru the mirrow and stand to the dash.

we have made several of the stainless mounts to move the fender mirrow to the windshield frame.

Smile mirrow

someone on the FFCar forum makes an aluminum mount. Don't know if you would have trouble with a soft top or not. But works great.
