We are planning some events around Charlotte and the Southeast over the next few weekends to promote the raffle and the charity and we would love to have some other Cobras show up in support. Anyone interested?

How about some more details? Is it an FFR? Engine? Transmission?

Who's chassis is it?
Who built the engine?
What front and rear suspension does it have?
What is it titled as?
Does it come with a top?
Does it come with a heater?
I see no wipers, yet your state requires them, is the car even titled, or is it on the original MSO?
Pictures of the dash, seats, trunk and undercarriage would be appreciated.

Now Bill, calm down...I'm sure they'll provide folks with such essential information if they'd really like to move things along here.
Really clean nice-looking build.

We're putting together a build list to answer a lot of questions. Things have a been a bit crazy since we finished last weekend. Here are some more pictures. You can see the pictures from the build at the track on Facebook.

Hi Bill,
I checked out the facebook link for you and there are NO details there or on any of the others sights listed. I'm going to send him a message and see if he will send me the info. I'll let you know what I find out...if anything.

If you believe in the cause, take a chance and buy a ticket. It's not a stolen car, so if someone picks it up for $25, it doesn't really matter what it is.

To answer your questions, our Cobra was a complete Factory Five kit, including the suspension, with all the bells and whistles. The engine is courtesy of Doug Herbert Performance. The car has not been titled yet, the charity will handle that. It does not come with a top or heater. As for the wipers, the kit didn't come with wipers. The car will be street legal for NC which should make it street legal for any state.

Which rear suspension, 4 link with stock coils, 4 link with Koni rear coil over shocks, 3 link, or IRS (Independent rear suspension)? How about the specs on the engine? 10:1 compression, 12:1 compression? Who's cam? Who's heads.....You are on an enthusiasts site here, we'd sure enjoy hearing the full specs on the build instead of having to force bits and pieces out of you every other day or so.
Charity events like this should be about the car and the charity, not about the self promotion of your company...I did it to the tune of 60K just this past April, mentioned my business once, then made it about the car and Make-A-Wish, and nothing else.........

How's this?
Tommypikecustom...list the specifics of the vehicle in such a manner that you will answer reasonably forseeable questions (such as the ones Bill has raised).
Bill...this has not a damn thing to do with how successful you are in charity promos. You had already made your point...the last post was a bit of the same self promotion that you accuse the threadstarter of.
That's it...sounds like a good cause, looks like a damn nice cobra and a ticket costs the same as one hand at a blackjack table.

(For)Jamo,
Not trying to butt in here and I am sure not trying to get on anyone's bad side.
(observation)
When I first saw this thread and also saw that it was the OP's first post, the first thing that it thought of was SCAM. Then as questions were asked, the answers seemed to be a run-around (look here, but there were really no answers there).
Checking into this closer, this seems to be legit and a very nice thing this company is doing. I even saw something about it on the tv the other night.
But, It seems that the OP would/should have posted a bit more information on the specifics of the build as this is a Cobra enthusiasts forum and he is asking us for money.
But maybe, that is just me.

Terry...no problem, and I respect your insight. But please go back and read what i wrote...I AGREED with Bill re needing the essential info.
My problem is when folks continue on after a point was made and then interjecting themselves and their accomplishments, which certainly distracts from the thread.
Why couldn't a suggestion have been made by a PM?
Back to the thread...if the threadstarter doesn't provide more info, then he only has himself to blame for any lack of enthusiasm here.

Sorry Jamo, The first line was meant for you. I should have spaced it out better or somehow shown that the rest was just an observation.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. This was our first Cobra build and foray into the Cobra world. We have seen that you guys are some serious enthusiasts and love your Cobra's. When we looked at the most effective ways to get the word out about this great charity we knew we had to get involved with some of the Cobra forums, hence our first post was about the raffle. Our apologies for not fully grasping how into the Cobra's the forum member are. I see now this forum requires more than here's the car, the charity and the raffle. You love these cars and want to know the in's and out's of what we were able to do.
We will put together a build list with details this week and get it posted. If there are more specifics that you would like to know about please let me know and I'll see that we get that information up.
Thanks for your support!

One of the reasons I asked about the details of the car was after seeing this in the rules:
Prizes / Odds of Winning: Grand Prize: One Cobra Replica, with a fair market value of $78,500 /not more than $125,000.00.
Presumably someone winning this car might be expected to pay taxes on the $78,500 amount.
With that type of price tag, the potential tax bill of the winner is a nice chunk of change. It would be nice to see a build list so that the winner would know what he or she might get for tax dollars that need to be spent after winning the car.
Just for comparison purposes, I see a used Kirkham replica for in the classifieds now for $1400 more than the fair market price of the raffle car.
http://www.clubcobra.com/classifieds...p?product=3186
The raffle car is a very nice looking replica, but I do think the fair market value seems a bit high (not that I know anything about appraising these cars).
I suppose the raffle winner could have an appraisal done which might lead to a different fair market value for tax purposes.
It is a nice looking replica and the charity looks worthwhile.

Say your number comes up and you win. You could always go for the humanitarian award of the year and say "no thanks" and tell them to keep the car so they can raffle it off again.
You'd have to work through the numbers to determine what the tax hit would be compared to what you think the car is worth or could be sold for. I'm pretty sure you'd still come out ahead on the deal with a $25 investment.
