289 Body on FFR mkIV chassis
Bruce Chervenak (Mr Bruce) is putting a 289 body on my FFR mk4 chassis. Bruce just test fit one of his mule bodies on it and "it fit like a glove"...

Bruce,
You got a home run here buddy. I think this is
the car FFR is missing. I love the FIA. Now all you need to do is figure out how to get FFR kits without the bodies. I want to see this Cobra when it is done

Hersh, since we're doing a Lemans top we are actually going to do this one. Sort of a FIA / Lemans combo. Billboards, Webers, etc...

I was thinking red, black, or guardsman blue but I won't fight you over it.
There was a time when I was "sure" I wanted a Daytona coupe. Then I'd go for a ride in the roadster and remember how much I liked that too. When I sold my first FFR the only way I was going to build another car is if it were a 289. Now I've got my coupe and a 289.
Bruce has been an absolute joy to work with. We'll see what kind of POS ends up on my doorstep. Seriously, see any seams there?...

Mr Bruce, I'm glad to this happening. I always thought you really needed to show how good this body can look when finished, and then guys will be lining up to get one. Can't wait to see it finished.

Nice, split trunk lid and all.
Are those" Howe" hubs, & are you going to finish the car with them?

The chassis / body in the garage is sitting on blocks without suspension. The wheels are shoved under there to get an idea about space available. The car will have the FFR pin drive setup with IRS.

I don't mean to steal this thread, but this is to attest to the quality of Bruce's , I'm sorry "Mr Bruce's" work. An absolute craftsman. I was reluctant to buy one of his bodies but took a trip out to Pittsburgh and was blown away . I ordered one and here it is. John O

those are awesome looking bodies Mr Bruce.....
do you have an interior tub that can be glassed in.
i'm the process of moveing and after i get set up
i'm going to build a new square tube frame and one
of your bodies would look real good sitting on top of
my new frame.......

I would love to build a 289 using an historic car to copy from, having just finished my 427. They're just exciting and full of features different to the 427. Combining Bruce's body onto a FFR has been made possible now with up to 6 FFR kit's being constructed in Australia going through engineering and other roadworthy requirements.
Regards.

Jim:
Paid a visit to Mr_Bruce's "skunk works" this past Saturday. He was hard at it. There's lots of interesting stuff going on with your project for sure...It will definitely be a one-of-a-kind FFR!

I think a lot of us are exited and looking forward to see a 'Mr Bruce' custom cobra. It is very, very interesting! It makes me contemplate robbing my childrens college fund.
