Sorry guys, but this myth could be true. The output of internal combustion engines that run on gas gasoline is a complex mixture of partially combusted hydrocarbons that includes, among other things, a variety of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), many of which are carcinogenic. Not sure about you guys, but I smell like gas when I get out of my Cobra which leaves me with little doubt that I am exposing myself to all kinds of bad stuff.
How do I know this? PAHs are what I use in my NIH funded research to injure lungs and lung cells. Phil Factor Professor of Medicine, Albert Einstein College of Medicine Head, Section of Pulmonary Medicine Beth Israel Medical Center Spf #2369. |
...somebody shoot me.
Dr. Phil Do you really think anyone doubts that bad stuff comes out of the pipes? Say hi to Oprah. PS, I used to steer a plow behind draft horses in the 60s (we grew vined tomatoes...too narrow for tractors in those days)...I guarantee you, the exhaust I dealt with then affected me far more than the Cobra's. :p |
So I shouldn't smoke while talking on my cell phone and driving a Cobra?
