No hole to repair or fill in, if you want ERA will build the FIA style car with an under exhaust system.

Hurricane Motorsports has build several under car systems as well, just need to ask for the street car model. Only problem might be the amount of ground clearance.

Does Superformance make a kit to switch to a full underbody exhaust system for the MkIII? I'd like to make the switch from sidepipes this winter. I can fab it all myself, but if there's a kit, life might be better. Engine is a 351W.

I inquired about a change from side pipes to a undercar exhaust so there is a thread in here to that effect you might search for.....but in the end

I ended up buying a car without side pipes, roll bars, racing stripes ect....a street cobra.

I could not be more happy with it....I have had no problem with heat or ground clearance.

Yes, I read through that thread. The answer to my question is not in that thread unfortunately. I suspect that I'll simply have to fab my own utilizing the side pipe type headers that are already on the car.

When I built my car while the frame was bare made the clearance for an undercar exhaust knowing there would be very little room. So glad I did the bell housing flange is the lowest point I can drive the car all day with no headaches. Besides that these cars have beautiful lines, without the side exhaust you really see them. The music exiting the rear is darn nice too.

I agree, with the sidepipes removed, the car is so much cleaner, the European design becomes very apparent. My mid-year Corvette is the same way; no sidepipes. I like the clean sleek European look, I guess.
