I should have added a second roll bar to your car.

I gotta chuckle.

Ya know, you have to make exception to some rules. In the case of this wrecked Cobra I don't see you "driving" it into the best position for the best composition and the best lighting with a nice background to get that "perfect shot". In this case the background is entirely appropriate to the pic!

Yep. I was tempted to post a pic of the more recent Cobra fatality with the white sheet over the driver....

Hi Guys,

Yes, the deadline is indeed here, and I have more than enough photos at this time. While it is "crunch time" around here which has kept me for thanking everybody who emailed individually, my thanks to all who responded. I was sent a LOT of photos!

Of the ones in high enough quality to use for print, I will likely be able to use 10-15 photos in the end out of the hundreds I received. Unfortunately, some great ones were sent with no car or owner info so they didn't make the final cut- but those that did will be receiving an email from me in the next 30 days or so with the required permission slip.

Ok- back to photo editing for me. Only 400 more photos and captions to go Thanks again!
Colin

The pics on this thread are awesome!
Colin,
Is this going to be more of a "coffee table" book with lots of big pictures and not much text, or more text and less pictures?
I could use a good coffee table book! Either that or I'd use it as an "office desk" book. I know if I left it on my desk at the convention booth company where I work, I'd get lots of comments. We have a surprising number of motor heads working there.

Hi Guys,

Just a quick update on "Shelby Cobra Fifty Years." The official release date is October 22nd, but as I sit here with my advance copy in hand I am happy to announce we are well ahead of schedule. Books should be shipping to customers by the end of September!

The end result is spectacular, and my sincere thanks to all who offered photos and their support.

The book is available now as a pre-order through Amazon, Amazon.com: Shelby Cobra Fifty Years (9780760340295): Colin Comer, Carroll Shelby: Books , and for anybody that would like a signed or limited edition copy through Colin Comer Books

If Club Cobra members are interested in a group buy, I would be happy to help work with the publisher on this- although it is really hard to beat the pre-order pricing that is on Amazon right now.

Thanks again for your enthusiastic support!

Best regards,
Colin Comer
