Sounds like an out of balance or a bad bearing on the heater motor. Put your hand on it when it is on high and you will be able to feel if there is a vibration or scraping sound. If so, you'll need to remove it and see if you can manually fix it or call SPF and get a new one.

Your car has headers, right? So why the need for a heater? Your tennis shoes haven't melted to the gas pedal yet?
