Well as long as it's taking them all to do this cam, it ought to come with a bezel, girdle, and table to match.

I'm pretty sure Brent could have built the entire engine by now including machining and checking every spec and tolerance three times over.

All this and the SFT engine has a 50/50 chance of living.

But he has to build the car before he can put the engine in it, you know. Dropping the mill is just about the last thing you do. I don't even think he's got the bottom end of the engine done yet. Jeez, he might not even have it torn apart and hot tanked yet.

Nice try. When you call to order a REAL engine from him, expect his phone to be busy for a year or so...

Brent's cam was ordered 3/07/11. Uh, today is 4/05/11. For a cam? Really?

A custom set of pistons maybe, or maybe a backordered set of roller rockers, possibly, but a cam? I think Comp Cams, Crower, etc. would take a couple days.

Richard said last week that it should be any day, so maybe today will be the lucky day. Ellie is all set to have her picture taken with it; she's got her cone collar off and is ready to go.

Not to be confused with the "Richard Treatment" from Halibrand.

Default Update

Just got off the phone with Richard at Bullet Cams. The cam has still not come back from the nitriding. He's going to call them up and scream at them and then call me back and give me an update. <sigh> You know, this kind of takes me back to when I was having my Cobra built years ago. There was something that I had to have, and that couldn't be gotten, and it was a real nuisance. It might of been the SCAT crank, but I can't remember. Doing anything with these cars is basically a PITA.

Don't sweat it Patrick. I'm not in a hurry for this cam...

I'm not going to complain on delivery time of a free camshaft anyway...

I think Chas would agree with me and say it doesn't look "free" peering down from the cheap seats.

Default Positive Signs

Well your cam didn't come today. BUT, Richard called me and said he shipped it AND he charged my credit card too, so those are two pretty good signs. I'll tell you, he must have shipped that cam to the NASA metallurgy lab or something -- I have no idea why it took them so long to cook it. And when I told him that money was no object, he clearly took me at my word. Hopefully you won't burn this baby up trying to break it in....

Default At Long Last...

Your cam has arrived. Now I'm keeping the nifty decals, but I'll ship it out to you tomorrow. Remember, I'm including two bottles of my favorite cam and lifter prelube (as pictured below). Far be it from me to tell you how to break in your cam, but if I were you I'd use it.
